4 DAY WORK WEEK - 4/10 SCHEDULE
Pay Rate: $20 to $24 an hour, depending on experience
Flexibility to work both swing and day shift
Summary: Responsible for efficient daily rice milling activities to assure operations are optimized.
Activities include operation of the milling process, prioritizing and assigning proactive and reactive
milling maintenance, trouble shooting milling issues, and maintaining quality and quantity product
Essential Functions:
Supervise and lead employees in a production environment.
Ensure workers are thoroughly trained and fully understand the functionality of their position.
Ensure compliance of company policies, local, state, and federal regulations including wage and
hour laws.
Promote opportunities for staff to develop new skills and enhance current skills.
Assist Head Miller/HR with supervision and performance evaluations of milling staff. May
recommend personnel be hired and/or removed from the department. Assist in disciplinary
procedures when necessary.
Operate and direct the operation of all equipment in the mill to ensure the production of specified
product(s) in a clean and sanitary environment, including; startup and shut down, running
adjustments, malfunction correction, and minor routine maintenance.
Communicate any downtime or change in production immediately to Maintenance
Manager/Operations Manager/ Plant Manager and surrounding departments (dryer, by-products,
packaging)
Operate milling equipment in an efficient manner to achieve optimal performance.

Vision insuranceConduct an equipment and product flow walk every 2 hours: check for plugs, unusual equipment
sounds, overall visual inspection of equipment while in operation, act promptly on problematic
findings.
Perform various quality checks and make judgments and operational adjustments accordingly.
Verify Assistant Miller and Millhands are completing their daily cleaning tasks and responsibilities.
In the absence of Head Miller ensure Monthly Cleaning Schedule is completed per Food Safety
policy.
Be willing to perform the role of Assistant Miller at company direction or staffing dictates the need.
Routinely observe condition of machinery, equipment, guards, facility areas needing repair or
conditions that appear unsafe create a work order immediately to preserve machinery or facility.
Conduct routine maintenance on the department equipment as scheduled, and maintain the area
in a clean and sanitary condition.
Ability to determine if rice specifications are correct for an order.
Interface with a computer terminal to change operational settings and input production data.
Work with the administration department to follow milling schedules and storage sequences.
Responsible for cleaning duties as directed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of machinery operations.
Must have knowledge of rice quality factors and reasonable milling out-turns.
Supervisory experience in a production facility preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate with Plant Management, Mill team, and Maintenance team.
The willingness to effectively deal with and drive change.
The ability to organize, prioritize and own multiple tasks while meeting and/or exceeding
deadlines.
The ability to learn and apply new technology, with the willingness to share knowledge with
others.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems related to milling rice.
Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages.
Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral/written instructions.
Ability to apply common sense to work performed.
Ability to make decisions which may have significant impact on the operations.
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
Must be able to operate a forklift and maintain a forklift certification.
Required to have knowledge of all positions in the Mill.
Education and Experience:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have at least two (2) years of milling experience.
Must maintain an Adult CPR and First Aid Certificate
