Equipment Rental Assistant
Job Description
Job Summary:
The Equipment Rental Assistant supports daily operations of a rental facility by assisting
customers, maintaining inventory, assisting in the damage process, and ensuring equipment is ready for use. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and basic
knowledge of tools or machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and assist with selecting appropriate rental equipment
- Process rental agreements, monitor delinquent accounts returns
- Inspect equipment before and after rental for damage or maintenance needs
- Organize rental inventory
- Provide basic instructions on safe equipment operation
- Track inventory and report missing or damaged items
- Coordinate with maintenance staff for repairs and servicing
- Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous customer service or retail experience preferred
Basic knowledge of tools, machinery, or construction equipment (a plus)
Ability to lift heavy items (60 lbs.)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Basic computer skills for processing transactions
Preferred Skills:
Experience in equipment rental or similar industries
Mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn
