Shasta County social services agency seeks Business Services Representative
Full-Time Temp-to-Hire opportunity!
$17.28 to $29.20
Position overview: Position facilitates the connection between businesses and qualified job seekers
Duties may include
Understanding the needs of employers to effectively assist businesses with their hiring needs
Cultivating ongoing relationships with local businesses while identifying and developing new business leads
Marketing Smart Center programs and services to business and client communities
Matching needs of the business community with qualified job seekers
Evaluating and certifying the eligibility of program participants for job training and education
Creating employment plans and coordinating basic job preparation activities
Updating the CalJOBS database regularly with thorough and accurate data
Display excellent organizational skills
Dynamic personality with strong relationship building skills
Ability to negotiate and develop business contracts with local employers
Background and required skills:
Marketing, sales, hiring, employment and labor laws, labor market info, contract writing, job search techniques
Software programs including Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or AA/AS degree and ability to attain workforce development and staffing industry certification within 9 months of hire is required as a condition of employment.
Any combination equivalent to two years of college in marketing, business administration, human resources, psychology, social services, or closely related experience is preferred. Bachelor s degree is preferred.
Local travel is required on a regular basis
3 weeks of paid vacation each year
Paid retirement
Paid week off between Christmas and New Year s
