Chico area business seeks Full-Time Accounts Payable Specialist!

Position overview: Handles day-to-day accounts payable and accounting in a retail business environment
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM 4:30 PM
Duties and responsibilities:
Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and documents for accuracy and authorization.
Enter invoices into the accounting system and code to appropriate general ledger accounts.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
Prepare weekly check runs, ACH payments, and credit card transactions.
Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems for A/P documentation.
Communicate with vendors regarding billing inquiries and payment status.
Support month-end closing by reconciling accounts payable and assisting with accruals.
Assist with annual audits and provide supporting documentation as requested.
Compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable tax and reporting requirements (e.G., W-9, 1099).
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills:
HS diploma or GED required; Associate s degree in Accounting or related field a plus.
Minimum 1 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
California DL with proof of insurance
