Schedule: Monday thru Friday
2nd Shift (Typically 4:00 PM 12:30 AM, or as scheduled)
Position Summary:
The 2nd Shift Production/Packing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production and packing operations to ensure efficiency, product quality, food safety, and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. This role supervises production staff, coordinates workflow, and ensures all operations meet BRCGS, GMP, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all 2nd shift production and packing activities
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality standards
- Enforce GMPs, food safety, and sanitation requirements at all times
- Monitor employees for compliance with company policies and procedures
- Train, coach, and develop production and packing staff
- Ensure proper documentation is completed accurately (production logs, downtime, QA checks, etc.)
- Communicate effectively with QA, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams
- Identify and address production issues, equipment concerns, and inefficiencies
- Ensure proper line setup, changeovers, and product specifications are followed
- Maintain a safe working environment and enforce all safety policies
- Assist with audits (BRCGS, GMP, customer audits) and ensure audit readiness
- Monitor labor efficiency and staffing levels
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
2+ years of supervisory experience in food production or manufacturing preferred
Knowledge of food safety standards (BRCGS, GMP, HACCP) preferred
Strong leadership and team management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Basic computer skills (production reporting, email, spreadsheets)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and supervise production floor for extended periods
Must be open to weekends and overtime!
