Position overview: Oversight and management of all clinical staff.

Responsibilities and required skills:

Ensuring all patient testing is appropriately scheduled, performed and documented
2 years experience in a proven supervisory capacity of 10 plus
Demonstrated skills in motivating and training professional staff = team building!
College degree and Certified as ophthalmic technician or medical technologist preferred
Excellent written and oral communication as well as good negotiation and persuasion skills
Ability to organize multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail
Empathetic personality with concern for patients needs
Ability to work as a team member and delegate tasks as needed
Demonstrated computer literacy

Personnel Management:
Recruit, hire and coordinate the training of new staff members
Counsels, trains and evaluates performance of clinical personnel
Increases worker retention rates: Assists clinical workers in obtaining more education, additional certifications and helps them find ways to enhance their skills and improve their chances of career advancement

Clinical Responsibilities:
Helps ensure that a medical facility and its staff maintain a high level of ethical and professional standards
Consults with and supports clinical staff in the efforts to serve patients
Helps improve communication among employees in a clinical environment.
Enhances quality of a healthcare facility s service offerings.
Ensures that all clinical staff is accurately notating patients electronic health records.

Administrative Duties:
Looks for ways to streamline and enhance clinical and administrative operations
Develops and implements some of the policies and procedures for the medical facility
Design and implement business strategies to help the clinic meet organizational goals
Schedules clinical staff according to workloads and available equipment and space
a. Stays up-to-date on a plethora of factors that affect the performance of a healthcare facility including advancements in diagnostic equipment, newly approved medications, upgraded computer technology, new and amended government regulations and changes in health insurance products.
b. Attends interdepartmental meetings.
c. Identifies quality assurance and risk management issues and brings them to the attention of the appropriate managers.

Must be able to work normal weekday hours Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm plus some evenings and weekends when necessary.
