Job Description
The Peer Mentor's primary duty is to encourage participants of the county's homeless programs to utilize services available in the community, to support their path of self-sufficiency.
Build rapport with homess individuals, assist in reducing barriers to services.
Assist with room check at Better Way, Pick up food and deliver to Better Way.
Assist with case managers to determine needs for clients
Interact with Participants
Microsoft Office knowledge (Work and Excel)
Ability to engage individuals in working toward housing, independent living, and goal obtainment
Because this is a peer mentor position, lived experience as a mental health consumer, consumer family member, or lived experience with homelessness is strongly preferred.
Applicants must be over 18 years of age.
Good Driving record, with valid drivers license
High School Graduate
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background screen
