Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Job Summary:
The Parts Specialist is responsible for handling, organizing, and ensuring the availability of parts, materials, and
components required for production.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor, track, and maintain accurate inventory of parts, materials, and components.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming parts against purchase orders and specifications.
- Organize and ensure that parts are properly issued to production staff in accordance with work orders
- Collaborate with Management, Technicians, and production teams to ensure correct part availability.
- Create purchase orders as required, working closely with the accounting department.
- Identify shortages, backorders, or discrepancies and escalate as necessary.
- Maintain an orderly and efficient parts storage system (bins, racks, labeling).
- Assist in sourcing alternative parts or suppliers when needed.
- Assure that all food grade grease and oils are properly stored
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline parts management and reduce downtime.
- Food Safety and Environmental Health and Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Facility, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety Procedures.
- Comply with Injury Illness Prevention Program, Safety Policies, Procedures, and Programs.
- Follow all relevant Procedures and Work Instructions to ensure all job duties are understood.
- Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to ensure the appropriate action is taken.
- Conduct verification of monitoring activities to assure finished product comply with food safety and quality
Duties and responsibilities: - Compares information and counts, weighs, or measures items
- Verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock
- Prepare reports, such as inventory balance, prices list, and shortages
- May order, stock, or issue materials, parts, and equipment
- Stock supplies and materials using a forklift
Required skills: - Familiar with and ability to become proficient in Navision software.
- Basic Microsoft Office experience such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
- Effective stress and time management skills.
- Knowledge of production and materials to maximize efficiency and minimize errors.
- Ability to work independently or as a team member.
- Forklift experience desired.
Education and Experience:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
High School graduate or equivalent
Knowledge of machinery
Basic Excel Experience.
Basic Accounting Experience.
Schedule: Monday thru Thursday 6am to 4:30pm
